2. ArcGIS Mapping Training with Professor Amanda Huron

In this interactive workshop, participants will set up a free online mapping account at arcgis.com and then learn to map data using the rich trove of data available through the D.C. government’s Open Data portal. This workshop will be especially designed to meet the interests of People Power Action and People for Fairness Coalition participants. You’ll walk away from this workshop having created your own online, publicly shareable map of D.C. data of interest to you!

About the instructor: Amanda Huron is an associate professor of interdisciplinary social sciences at the University of the District of Columbia. She is an urban geographer specializing in housing justice and D.C. history, and has taught online mapping workshops all over D.C.

*Please note that because ArcGIS requires a computer screen to navigate the program, the training unfortunately will not be available by phone.
